Tech Tips and Tools

I’ve recently come across some tools and apps that I’m really liking, so I’d like to share with you some Tech Tools that are making a big difference to my working days!

#1: TimeSnapper

One of my clients, Donna King, from Smart Bookkeeping has been using a tool called TimeSnapper.

TimeSnapper takes a snapshot of your screen every 10 seconds. So for those of you who struggle with forgetting to start and stop the timer, when you get to the end of the day you can actually see what you’ve been doing instead of wondering ‘what the hell have I been doing all day?!’.

I know that I sometimes have to go back to my sent emails to see what I’ve been doing if I’ve forgotten to track my time. So this app has been great – it literally plays a video of your entire day so you can see what you’ve been working on and for how long.

#2: Your Phone Companion

The second app is for Samsung phone users – I discovered this by accident!

On my Samsung phone there’s an app called ‘Your Phone Companion’ and on your PC it’s just called ‘Your Phone’.

This app simply connects the two – so I can see all of my messages and notifications from my phone on my computer. This means I can reply to my text messages from my computer, I can access my phone photos on my computer (handy for Social Media posts) and much more.

It means everything is in one place, so it makes everything a lot easier and faster to manage!

#3: Dropbox Integration for Outlook

Another cool tech tool I’ve started using is the Dropbox Integration for Outlook.

This lets you add email attachments straight to your Dropbox account and vice versa.

On the righthand side of Outlook you can access all of your Dropbox Folders and you can search in there really easily too. This makes it really super easy to save an attachment from an email into a folder. Saving you time and clicks!

#4: Hubspot

And last but not least is HubSpot – my CRM system.

CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management. It’s basically the piece that manages all of your customer relationships, your sales and leads.

HubSpot is great because it integrates with Outlook. After setting it up, it will now bcc my CRM so that I get a running list of communications with my clients. This makes it really easy to manage relationships and where abouts different leads are sitting in my pipeline.

It also integrates with many things apps like Calendly!

AND best of all it’s free!!!

You can pay a small charge to integrate it with WorkFlow Max or Xero Practice manager. This means when you create a deal for a new client within HubSpot, it then creates a job within Workflow Max/Xero meaning you don’t need to do any duplicate entries!

Those are the 4 Tech Tools I thought I’d share with you! I hope you find them useful!
